Travel gal: 48 hours in Lebanon

They call it the Paris of the Middle East and the party capital of the world. They say you can ski ⛷️ in the mountains and swim in the sea on the same day - and people line the roads selling baskets of figs in between. There's a Christmas tree on it's flag 🎄 and shepherds in the mountains. It's a getaway from avocados but it's got the best hummus you will ever eat (suck it, Greece). This. is. Lebanon. 🇱🇧

So let's just start off with a deep breath and a look at the amazing city views...

I mean - it might be hot, noisy, polluted and kind of mental but the line of coastal cities in Leb are pretty incredible. This view's from Tripoli.

The mountain horizon's not bad either...

The top of Zaarour holds one of the most stunning and lesser known spots ⛰️

The food literally comes straight from the gods...

Hummus, watermelon, green grapes, tomato with salt and olive oil. Simple but perfect. We recommend the Manushi (a kind of Lebanese pizza) and Moujadara (mashed lentils with caramelised onions on top) 😋

and You won't come back without an obligatory camel pic...

We call it Bassam (means the 'smiley one') 🐪

You have to try a thick black Arabic coffee in front of the sunset...

If you add sugar, you're a pussy 🐱

And you won't be able to say no to a free ride offered by a random farmer...

No saddle, no worries 🤷

You thought Chicken Shop was good?

The Lebanese literally invented chicken 🍗 (and hummus, Greece, srsly back off)

So, the beaches are also pretty gorgeous...

With long-boarding, canoing, kayaking and banana boating to your heart's content 💦

You can eat right on the sea front...

...and in amidst ancient temples of the Ancient Phoenicians, and there ain't no beer like an Almaza light 🍺

There are also loads of random giant statues of Mary...

Which are pretty beautiful if slightly OTT 👀

And, because we promised there'd be shepherds...

Just watch out for the crazy sheep dogs. And the thistles. And the 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

Lebanon is beautiful, delicious and crazy amounts of fun. There is the maddest night life and there are always gigs and festivals and art going on in Beirut so make sure you book something before you go. We saw Akon and Mika lol. #LiveLoveLebanon
